Modal will help Clients develop their scheme proposals, advising on highway layout and access strategies for car, bike, pedestrian and public transport users.

Transport Assessments

Modal will prepare Transport Statements or Reports in order to accompany a Clients Planning Application for their development. The Assessment would typically consider the impact of the development proposals on the local highway network, including accessibility for car, bike, pedestrian and public transport users. In addition and where appropriate, Modal will advise on junction strategy and enhancements in order to minimise any adverse impact on the local highway.

Travel Plans

Modal will assess a Clients staffs travel habits and produce a report aimed at reducing their reliance on single car user occupancy. An outline of a Plan could be submitted with a Planning Application, and following Planning Approval the Travel Plan can be prepared on more detail following close consultation with Clients and their staff in order that a realistic Plan is produced which has achievable targets .

Client - Local Authority Liaison

Modal Group will liaise on behalf of Clients with their Local Highway Authority or the Highways Agency. Often early discussion with the Local Authorities can result in saving a Client time and money through reduced aborted work and reduced potential misunderstandings on both sides.

Road Safety Audits

Modal Group can carry out independent Audits as per the Institute of Highways and Transportation guidance. Engineers have attended appropriate courses and conform to necessary experience criteria in order to carry out the Audits to a high standard. Audits have been carried out on both small and large development proposals, with the reports being submitted as part of the Planning Application.
